Much thanks for all your support

Thanks to all of you for your support with my daughter going missing.

Yesterday Veetia went missing around 1.30 pm yesterday from home. She had packed her bag and was "going to live her dream traveling from place to place." She had got into a huff over several things she wasn't allowed her to do.

She spent the night sleeping in bush. When she woke up she walked down the wrong path and got lost. After crossing a creek she heard some builders working and tried to make it to them. She tried to cross a swamp and got stuck half way across so she climbed a tree and started yelling until one of them heard her and with his work mates rescued her.

So thanks to all of you for your supportive texts, emails and phone calls from the bottom of our hearts

We'll be bringing thank you cookies to the next meet.

    Amy, Veetia, Lidka and George

Mate, all of us here at work were totally thrilled to see that she had been found. She seems to be a "character".

    So glad she is OK!

From what you've said above she must be one pretty smart girl to have the presence of mind at such a young age!

She sounds a worry! You guys must have been beside yourselves! I was relieved to see the news this morning that she'd been found safe! These stories don't do a lot for the stress levels, do they?

Geez George I only caught all this this morning and then saw it was your girl - shocked and felt deeply for you guys - our boy went missing recently but thankfully not overnight! I am sure you guys are over the moon with relief!

Awesome to hear she found her way to help and home again. Clever poppet.

    Blah

Saw on the news she'd been found and thought it looked like you, but thought, nah, I was imagining it.

Glad it's ended well, there's been too many crap stories lately of little ones, so it's nice to have happier stories come out as well (ones with a happy ending).

I remember going off as a kid without telling the olds where I was going and my mate asking me if I shouldn't tell them. I still remember commenting, oh, they won't care anyway and probably won't even notice I'm gone. She must have thought I had the most uncaring family (whereas the opposite was true). (I often got locked in my bedroom, so would climb out the window and go play with friends, sneaking back in before anyone realised I was missing, again).

Kids still get up to the same things we used to do, it's the world that's changed, and it's definitely not as safe as it used to be for us (same as what our parents thought).

Give her a big hug from all of us and I'm glad it worked out okay. Definitely scarey for the rest of the family.
On the funny side (now that it's worked out well) - she's got a good story for back at school - why I shouldn't run away from home.
    Take care,
    Michelle

I just about fell over when I realised it who the missing girl was.

Gave a cheer when I heard she'd been found.
    Extremely glad for you all.

Those of us who are parents understand, and are just really happy she's back home!

I got the washing stick when I did that sort of thing when I was about 6. Thought it would be fun to hide and miss the bus so we could walk home several miles... Got home rather late... Couldn't really understand Mum's reaction at the time...

Bet you've had a good sit down discussion with the little Miss?
