Hi, and this is my first also. Lee Valley is the left-hand turn at the Brightwater Pub. I'm sure you know where that is. The camp site is about 5 mins up the road, over the bridge and around 3 corners and there is a big sign saying "Paretai". Absolutely gorgeous setting.

try that and see if that helps you.

Camp is open to us from 1.pm Friday December 9 through until Sunday December 11. From the few I know and have met that are coming it is going to be a lovely weekend with many laughs to be shared.

P.S. sorry my link does not work at all. damn blonde hair!

I know the Local scout camp in Wellington has been used by both the Ulysses club, and as a base for a capital coast ADV ride a few years ago.

The good thing is quite often you can get the place to yourself, and most are Rural based. Anyone in nelson want to have a go at contacting them?
Here you are Riwaka Girl....hope this helps.

Great, thanks for that.. so being a newbie to all this.. how does it work? Everyone camps out, hangs out.. bla bla bla.. what about riding? As it's not that far from me it's not really a biggie to go camping as I don't know anyone but I'd be up for a ride :-) What's the usual format? cheers

I don't do camping either which is why this is perfect for me...this place has beds for 36 and then some could dos in the lounge.

Go on, I dare ya, come on over on Friday after woork, it's only $15.00 a night, bring a blanket, a wee drink, bit of food and all the entertainment is on the house.

On Saturday we'll all head off for a nice relaxed ride over the Takaka hill for some fun and food...just where we lunch is still undecided. Being another local you'll be handy to have around to show these poor unfortunate ones some really nice roads and scenery. You know, all those secret back roads that no out-of-town loopie would know.

I'll be taking my bbq out, but there is an amazing kitchen for cooking etc.

As to not knowing anyone...join the club. I know four of them the rest are not strangers, just friends I have not met yet. If it makes you feel any better we can hook up for a ride or two before hand, it is 5 weeks away .... only 5 weeks to go.
