Jeez you really are thick.... "unforeseen circumstances" would be close to the description i think. You know, one of those things you don't readily come across on a day to day basis, can be a little unpredictable maybe....how much more do we have to spell it out for ya. Bloody hell!
Maybe we should make up a list just for you perhaps.....
My God, i would hate to ride with you!

As a complete noob I would be happy to ride out with almost anyone at this point - every time i see someone else riding I try and pay attention to how they ride so I can then decided if there style is something worth emulating or not.

It would be awesome to have just had a constructive thread about kit that had worked well though. I have tried to buy decent Kit - but until you see what has happened to it after someone has taken it down the road you never know. Hopefully i will never be posting a review like this... and the arguments afterwards don't exactly make me feel like I would want to. The likes of those such as Katman and his distractors might want to think about that. If I don't post at all about an off you can't give me any good advice about how I could have avoided it!

There's a big difference between those who post about an accident with a genuine desire for advice and those who post about their accident as a means to blame someone/thing else and to garner a bit of sympathy.

    Good point Beren.
The plus side of that is you will learn quicker the style that best suits you.
Serving an apprenticeship if you will?

... and how does that relate to the original post here ? The guy was promoting the use of decent gear when riding, by telling how it protected him when he came off.... and good on him. He was not expressing any desire for any advice or critique from you Katman, you trolling, self righteous gobshite.

Wouldn't the best way of geniunely giving advice be to partake in an advanced riding day of some kind? I am certain there would be a large number of noobs and newish riders who have gotten down the basics of making their bike go and stop who would really appreciate a working knowledge of what 7/10ths or 8/10ths riding actually looked like from people that know.

To think that he is a "Mentor" what a fucking joke

As I AM the originator of the "Mentor" system on this site I wouldnt have bothered had I known it was going to attract such plonkers.

Good on you for attending those sessions.

Another option is that BRONZ run a day's training called Ride Right, Ride Safe on the third Sunday of every month. Lots of people have found this helpful, me included. See the info page here.

You may find that out if ya go ride a bike one day instead of knocking the shit out of ya keyboard.
Tell me, how do you anticipate something that has a brain of it's own (wandering stock) or mother nature so to speak???? Sounds like you expect us all to ride at snails pace every where we go.
Still insisting on twisting my words, huh?
I came in here to second the wearing of good gear, not to comment on why the rider had an off. I wasn't there, so how would I know whether he could have avoided the off or not. He said some others also lost it there, and some didn't. Make of that what you will.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
