    My take on the L1 GSX-R 750

Had the pleasure of test riding the L1 GSX-R750 at Boyds the other day.
I'm amazed at what a 5 year difference can do to the technology on the bike!
You DO notice the approx 5kg weight difference over the K6-K7.
ECU mapping is VERY good for stock. The fuelling and power delivery are VERY smooth.
Handling is razor sharp, aided to an extent by the narrowing down of the bike at the rear of the tank/seat area.
Induction noise to die for! Sounds great!!
My only slight criticism is the valving in the BPF forks. A bit harsh for bumpy roads, even with my slim (NOT!!) physique. I didn't try adjusting anything on the suspension, but I suspect port size on the pistons in the forks may be a bit small.
I have, however been fairly spoilt with the current suspension set up on my present bike.
    Would I buy one?? YES!

Will I buy one?? Watch this space!

You still can't beat the ol' stick and rudder though can you?

So you've test rode one now, I guess that means you just need to find an owner for the current sem fiddy...

    I'm waiting!!
Unfortunately, I only got to ride the L1 for a few kms.
Bloody loved it! My only criticism, as noted, is the valving up front. A wee bit more rear ride height would have been nice, too. Still, easy problems to solve!
    The engine is a sweetie.

To be honest I didn't have a problem with the suspension. But then after an R6 it's positively plush.

Plan on giving it a bit of a spanking at Manfeild this Sunday so I'll see how that goes.
