I had a crash recently,it was entirely my fault

I had absolutely no intention of riding into the centre barrier on the motorway or causing couple thousand dollars damage to my bike.Had nt planned to feel stupid for being the master of my own demise.Definately had not planned to slide and tumble down the seal at 100k.But sometimes it just doesnt go to plan.....bit like the unwanted pregnancy or the meth habit.Fortunately I had a fullface KBC helmet that is now serverely grazed across the visor and side.spidi gloves that wore right through the padding but not to the skin.Mistake number two...leather with no armour,nasty rash/burns to elbow.Mistake three... designer jeans...yip I didnt save my arse.Could have been far worse...........Thanks ACC........WEAR THE GEAR....katman go for a ride on your bike,do you have a bike?

No doubt about the value of the armour

. I am black and blue (and yellow and red) all down the back of the left arm, no rash though and no breaks. I am sure that the armour helped there. Good it wasnt more serious.

I'm an ATGATT person. My wife on the other hand, although she wears gear completely covering her, prefers to use the lightest gear she can, and removes the armour.

Different people have different risk profiles, and you end up selecting the gear that provides you with the protection against the accidents you think you are most likely to happen. And this needs to be balanced with functionality - you still need to be able to ride the bike and enjoy yourself.

Risk profiles change with our experiences. Our experiences make some risks look greater, and some look less.

But I'm betting now that you've incurred a bit of pain, the idea of only using designer jeans for protection probably wont fit your new risk profile.

+1 to what Phil said above.
Your ownership of this crash is admirable.
I'd like to know though, at the risk of attracting undue attention are you able/willing to tell us why it happened?
Also if you are, is there anything you might have done differently to prevent it happening again.
I'm serious here, if by suffering some further embarrassment to go with your already bruised body, your story helps someone else here not have the same experience then it is in my humble opinion worth the exposure.
I can't speak for Katman , so I won't but while his message is brutal, it is correct.

Im MOSTLY atgatt. anything further than niping up the road and Im ALL the gear.
Well you cant change what you did but you can change your attitude from here on out. knowing you were to blame is a bloody good place to start. Heal up dude, glad you didnt become another death statistic!!!
