Huh? No need for that ... see my post #41 ... I'm supportive of you guys for stepping in, as I've already said. Just a shame the whole concept of the original Bucket meet has been shifted, thats all. Its certainly not a dig at CAMS, as I have said, CAMS always runs a great meeting ... sheesh ....

Geez Gav, give us a break! The experienced guys from the previous committee had stepped back/stepped down. From what I understand nothing had been done to organize the BOB apart from book the track and post the date - I may be wrong but those folks were not at the meeting to share their knowledge. We're trying to get this thing going again. The new committee don't have the experience to do this alone, CAMS have stepped up which I think is a godsend. We'll get a good day's racing in as well as the 1 hour BOB. Instead of sniping at us, come along and give us hand
Sometimes you wish it was easier, but if it was, everyone else would do it, then you remember you don't want to be like everybody else!

Right all, I'm not for airing dirty laundry in public. I have just rung Waldo to get the lowdown to put some things to bed.

After talking to him the BOB will be no different than last year. We will get the same number of sprint races as the rest of the cams classes. The BOB will be a luchtime race as it was last year. The whole meeting will be on B track (the best bucket track in the country).

Wal and I breifly discussed the F4 GP and he is contacting MNZ on Monday to see what it will take to get it down here for the BOB, dont shoot him or me if it doesnt happen!

No one likes change and there will be some with the new thinking in the clubs committee. In the short term the BOB is going ahead in the same format as last year!

Well, one of the main differences is the classes that will be running.
This is what has been advertised.

    2011 Battle of the Buckets

    ** PRE ENTRY ONLY **

Saturday the 15th of October. Sign in will start at 7:40 and we aim to be on track at 9am

This event will also provide racing for Motards, Pre82/89, Streetstock.

We aim to have a minimum of 6 rounds for every class, so a lot of track time is available.

Ys Gav the original advertised BOB has changed, different people have different ideas. The old committee (i was the vice pressy) are no longer in power. You had your chance to stand and make a difference. Hell you only have the bucket so the class changes dont effect you! If anyone is going to bleat it should be me, I own a motard! But knowing cams, turn up and they will find you somewhere to play! Dust ya golf clubs off mate! I wasn't comfortable with the changes but after talking to Waldo hes on our side. Ya be better to ring him and discuss your concerns rather than doing it here?

I'll shoot you both if it does happen. Why not keep it as 2 separate events. Both are great in there own right. The GP is a different format with qualifying transponders etc. Are you proposing running BOB in this sort of format. I know that the GP is not on the calendar yet but I am sure it will happen in this racing season.

Keep them separate my 2 cents.

...not out of line Gav...just voicing your concerns...we have not spent more than 2 minutes discussing the BOB since we heard that our assistance was reqd...as its not advertised on our calendar as a CAMS meeting there is plenty of time to discuss the format of the meeting...I would be really keen to see you all get as much as you want or need...we are not going to hi-jack the BOB...we do need 75 + entries so as not to run at a loss...thats the black and the white of it..

You should get half of that just with Buckets
