Why not subsidise the Noth Islanders the $20, they have to pay several hundred to get here and pay for all the drinks etc.
If they get a bit cross on principle and decide not to come we still dont get the money. there are usually only half a dozen , surely that wont sink the club

It's a closed to club meeting - and the membership is around $120...
and It's a one - off expense for any SI riders going as there's zero chance of making another Register meeting in that year.
$20 doesn't look too bad does it ?

As for the $20 entry to the BOB race itself, there are costs BMRC will be picking up for the ambulance and flaggies etc for the hour of the BOB race which we need to cover while the regulars have their lunch etc
Really? How much is this expected to be then? Don't we usually have our own flaggies? We are getting charged for the ambulance? errr, why?
Is there any lap scoring sorted to be in place?

Yeah haven't seen any of those, maybe a $59 at best but they aren't usually any time near when you want them. + there's something on here that next weekend.

I used to be the most traveled Bucket racer doing Auckland 2hrs, then GPs & have done 4 or 5 BOBs & everywhere in between. These days with two very young kiddies my time is limited & Henk & Michelle seem to have taken over as the wanderers so the circle of life is continued in equilibrium.

Still haven't decided how to get there & when etc. Getting to be a ball ache.

Ah, but we haven't made it to any south island races (yet). And don't have any young kiddies to consider. We are contemplating next year, but see how that goes (thinking of giving going to the MotoGP a miss and maybe finally going to Superbikes the following year instead). Only problem is I've not ridden the South Island (yet), so am keen to do so, so might have to do one bucket, one road bike, with one riding down (until we can dump the van somewhere to go two road bikes, and a barrel of fun). Henk's not keen on being pillion (go figure, I haven't managed to drop the bike with him on the back yet).

So Dave, you're still ahead of us. Your crown is safe for another year. ~ Dutchee (too lazy to log on as me).

Just did the quick maths on the trip and it isn't cheap.

500 bucks for the ferry gas and entry. Lucky the sponsor will be picking up the bar tab.

175 each way for the boat. That just seams fecken to much.

I don't have a problem with the entry fees at all. Just the bloody little gap of water we have to cross. Anyone got a jet ski with a trailer?
