Nah...wasn't saying you were mate. I'm just reiterating how well Dave rode the thing. Major ingredient #1! I have no problem admiting my KR1 was running on good gas/premix and had a diff CDI unit in it. The CDI unit was more of a hindrance than a help, as it made it even peakier. Loren Poole will attest to that. And I ran premix after having two siezures related to dicky oil pumps and wasn't prepared to throw another crank at the thing.
But Dave Cole won those races because Dave Cole was riding better than everyone else there at that time. Fair and square!!!
Agree. I've been beaten up by better riders punting bikes with half the power of the bike I was on. Doesn't matter how much power the bike has- the rider still has to have talent. He had to pick his way through a lot of lapped traffic without getting caught- that takes skill.
