    Exhaust system for ZXR250?

    Hey,

I just was wondering if anyone had experience and/or an opinion on putting a new exhaust on a ZXR 250. I am looking at tyga or perhaps a whole exhaust system. Ive seen ones taking alot of weight off and adding a coupla HP. Also sound of course! What do you think is best and anyone know the best place for them? I am definitly thinking overseas website?
Im really interested in making this bike mint and unique, and yes i know someone is going to say "save your money etc etc" but I really don't care. Just want to make my ZXR faster and sound better

    Cheers

Sounds great mate, go for it! Sorry I can't help with exhausts for the older zxr's, but yep overseas websites tend to be the best places to look! Let me know what you go for in the end!

    been there done that http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...t-for-a-ZXR250

I can say.... there will be no power difference... turns out a great big deal of the restrictions are in the header pipes not just the muffler... if its about look and sound not performance then totally do it, I did, it sounds absolutely awesome, never regretted it and the kiwi dollar is strong now.

if you want a complete exhaust system for actual hp gains, PM steelestring. he had a complete high performace chrome exhaust system for zxr250 for a reasonable price, just remember with real performace gains you need rejetting, maybe some dyno time to sort out the jetting etc so your bike's engine doesnt pop, and costs start to add up.

I would think that the cost would far outweigh any performance gains you would acheive. if you do an exhuast, youll also need to dyno or something to check whether or not you need to re-jet, and or fit aftermarket air filter as well.
this kinda thing can easily run you $1500+, wouldnt it be better to put that money aside towards your next bike when you upgrade to a 400 or a 600?

If youre getting a bit bored with your bike, go and do a trackday or ten on it. thats always a good way to fall in love with your bike again.

I understand the desire to mod your ride, but I wouldnt bother doing the zorst on a 2 fiddy.

    Just my $0.02
