    Who in Auckland sells Dot 5 brake fluid?

    anyone know who sells dot5 brake fluid in centralish auks.dont really want to pay for it to say hd on the bottle.thanks

    You should be able to get it at any brake service place. I'm assuming you are aware that it is not compatable with dot3 or 4? In fact you can't even just flush out and change type. Sorry if I am trying to tell you how to suck eggs!

    DOT 5 is not compatible with DOT 3 or DOT 4 as it is Silicon based. DOT 5.1 can be used in place of DOT 3 and DOT 4 however.

    HA had me rushing to the shed to check the DOT what's it on the container. 5.1 in mine - figured it was fine as it has been in there since Xmas! Elf stuff - compatible with all braking systems apparently.
