There are quite a few Tongans living in Oamaru, they are not strangers in the area!

They are also quite good citizens too, certainly not necessarily known trouble makers.

Bought here in numbers a few years back under the guise of working at the freezing works, fucking ridiculous considering theres plenty of blokes here were jumping up and down for a chance to get in thereThe real reason was simply the bloke doing the hiring (since been sacked) had strong connections with the Nth Otago rugby scene hence the local team become known as Nth Tongaru.Last year or the one before cant remember there was a few sent back as they were here illegally but the preceding years had seen the damage done and there everywhere,no doubt theres plenty of good people amongst them but i have to disagree John many of them cause a shitload of trouble on a regular basis.I find some of thems attitude amazing, they come here then prefer to stick to themselves (no problem)but constantly whinge about not being accepted, there young fellas take all this onboard get fuelled up on a Saturday night and go nuts at the local young blokes, fuck em send them back home i say we really dont need there shit, and it is there shit.

True. Back in the 70s my mate worked at Gillies Foundry after school and made friends with a few who worked there. Pretty good blokes generally.

EDIT: Bastards to play cricket against though. The whole concept of forward defensive was foreign to them. They just wanted to smack the ball over the boundary every time.

Hey, I have no problem with what you did, you played it exactly as you saw it, even if he was Snow white herself, he had no business jumping onto your prized ute!

And, if you had got out and remonstrated with him ... (them before long) we may well have been viewing a very different thread!

As it is, justice was served, irrespective of who what or where and calling the police would just have been a waste of time and energy and most likely exacerbated the situation with an unwanted outcome to boot!

Can't say I like the way NZ has turned out when I compare the way things were in the fifties to what it is like now, especially when we consider our race relations right across the board, it fucking stinks IMHO!

Am I blaming everyone else .. NO .. I am part of the whole thing just by being a New Zealander, (of which I am very proud) it's just that somehow we seem to have lost the bloody plot!

    Not a good look.
