Child Cancer Appeal - The Big Busk Event - Friday 20 May 2011

Ok my lovelies, its all on for next Friday.

As part of the Child Cancer Foundation 'Big Busk' event, I will be busking on the corner of Queen and Shortland Street, Auckland CBD between 1.00pm - 1.45pm on Friday 20th May 2011.

This is a national event with buskers taking part at 15 locations all over the country. Its a great cause and a way to help children, their parents and caregivers deal with the day to day struggle of dealing with cancer.

It would Be great to see you there if you are around.

My fundraising page for the event is here:

What a gesture,my ex couldn't believe how helpfull the society was when our daughter went to Auckland for treatment(although 17 is almost adult),funny how I did say the society will be good to you and look after you while having operation etc.

Fuck - I thought it said Big BUST event.

I'd come and listen if I was up there FM. But if I see anybody local, I'll be sure to toss some coin their way.

Does your busking involve either nudity and pies?

I'll pop across to watch on my lunchbreak......

Ha ha ha haaaaaa.....classic.....thanks mate. Yes, did get a few dodgy looks over the 'shoes' comments, one big geezer obviously took a bit of offence, thought he was going to knock me out. Still. thats entertainment....

Thanks for your donation mate, really appreciated

So, I made a load of noise down Queen Street today.....

.....and all up added another hundy or so to the Child Cancer Appeal by way of the Big Busk in Auckland City.

Got a spot on Queen Street, played for 40 minutes and in that time managed to admire lots of shoes and got at least 30 people singing the chorus to Mustang Sally as they waited at the lights.

Thanks to everyone that donated online and in my bucket, really appreciated. It all helps and it is very well received.

Just a few piccies for ya, thanks again KB'rs.....

It was rather a shame that both you guys and the Westpac crews were all out fundraising in town at the same time. I got a bucket waved in my face at every set of lights... I was all out of money by the end of lunch. Think it would have made a huge difference to each charity if they had chosen different days. It was for a lot of people a case of i want to give to you but have already given what i have to the other guy...

I know, couldnt believe that myself but hey, you do what you do and it doesnt really matter who you give to or how much. All worthy causes and all well received.

I'm sure the Child Cancer people will try and jack up a date for next years event that doesnt clash.

    Thanks again mate
