Quite normal around here, out of the last four wofs at vtnz I was asked to skid three times and the other occasion they just asked me if the brakes worked and were happy with an affirmative from me.

Nobody really seems to have a clue about bikes down there but at least they don't try and sell me stuff I don't need to get through the WOF.

I'm surprised you can't lock your wheels up though.
    Oh bugger

Yep should be able to lock it up with that much speed, distance.
I've had guys ask me to lock up the back wheel, ride off and brake front only then rear only and had them ride it and do the same. Today when I took Michelles ninja in for a warrant they didn't check the brakes at all. Just had a look at the pads.
Bit of a lack of consistency when you consider they are the most safety critical part of a bike, I did get the fact that the number plate light isn't working pointed out to me though.

Well I could come to a complete standstill without skidding. Tried it a few more times on the driveway until the landlord turned up to do some stuff..... stalled it a couple of times but still no luck.

    Must try harder.

    No they aren't. This is:

The VTNZ testing station here have made me skid (or lockup) the front as well.
I had one motorbike shop tick it off on a WOF years ago and say if they didn't work you wouldn't be here.

I've had a WOF many years ago from a bike shop (no longer) with a glance through the window.

No mate they are not hydrolic, the front and rear do happen to Hydraulic though

Am I retarded, can this be done cause I really don't think it can. I have the day off work today and am tempted to try up and down our driveway.
    lock up the rear wheel?
    yes it is possible.

    now, what this _exactly_ means?
if you lock up the rear wheel while moving, that's a skid. did he prefer to se you skidding little sideway? still no prob, but can't understand the sense of the request.

wants he to see at any cost a skid mark on the tarmac? he's a dick.
