    Start by sowing seeds

Umm... ill take a guess and say fertilliser, also do they like hot or cold climates etc..?

By the way.. 1 acre - looking to sell them or what? Surely you would know how to plant them before setting aside an acre..?

yeah, they dont grow fruit for the first 7/12 years. not sure which. but once they are mature enough you could make a ot of face cream or something to keep those wrinkles at bay.

    I have a friend...

...who grows avocado's from the stone in a glass on her kitchen window...once it sprouts she puts it in a pot and then grows another and now she has 3 and one on the way....but somehow I don't think that way will fill up your acre very fast....

...and I'm guessing they are from "supermarket" stoneds ? they are no good as they are from hybrids and if they fruigt it will be a while (12 years...or more) and not nececarily very good fruigt....sorry to spoil the party. but they might be useful for grafting a branch from a "real" advocado tree on to.

I'm not too sure how you'd grow a lot of them... But you need to know if you have a male seed/pip or a female one... one of them (proberly the male lol) doesn't grow big avo's, or doesn't grow them at all.

I've seen many people just put a toothpick into either side of the seed/pip and use the toothpicks to hold half the seed above the water level of the container/jar they keep it in... then when it starts to grow just shove it into some soil and hope it grows..
I'm not a complete idiot... some pieces are missing

    Hey Winja, why plant advocados?

I hear from a friend in Tauranga that it is a very lucrative fruit and is in good demand at the moment.

    Awesome !

I am thinking of buying a lifestyle block of around 3-10 acres. Is it alot of work to maintain the large piece of land? Is there anything I should be aware of before I make a decision to purchase?

There is an avocado dude I came across a while ago (we were looking at doing the same) and he gave us some good pointers.

Also, I think there is an Avocado board or grower's association around somewhere? I recall we downloaded a bunch of useful stuff.

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
