Nice, are you going out the Halcombe road? If not, you should be!

This is the kind of thing you have to be aware of always as it is always likely when you get to a prime passing opportunity that someone else will be thinking the same thing as you.
If there is a wide open gap I generally let cars over take first (same goes for overtaking lanes) lets face it on a bike over taking opportunities aren't exactly rare.

.... back in green and feeling great ....

    Sorry !.....
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

I've not been riding very long and it was my 1st 'holy shit' moment with a car.
I ride with an 'every asshole is out to get me' point of view, but don't yet have the confidence to lane split, so I'm pretty cautious when it comes to overtaking.

I appreciate I've got a lot to learn and it's the risk I run by choosing to ride a bike.
I was just ranting, as the post thread states.

    Thanks for the welcomes
You've posted just right.....you're right too, all those cage drivers are out to kill you, none of them see you so it is up to you to keep yourself safe. And now the next time you drive in a cage you will see so much more, you have much to learn, as do I. Stay safe.

Seriously? I would have thought cities with traffic jams and shit would contribute to more stupid behavior and inattention. Maybe everyone in palmy is just depressed and whiny cos of the whether Sun-strike contributory accidents must be pretty rare here though right?

I realise that because you couldn’t afford a car that can exceed 170km/h, you feel a strong need to compensate for yourself. I also realise that you wake up each morning and put on your “I’m going to drive like an inconsiderate fuck face” hat.

I’d just like to say thank you, for driving at 80km/h in a 100 zone. I’d also like to thank you for whatever dumb fuck brain cell in you imbecilic mind thought it was a smart idea to try to cut me off.

It must have been hard hearing the roar of my 250 as I travelled behind you; I can understand how that would upset you whilst driving a 1.5L. And as you watched me indicate to overtake you, your inconsiderate fuck face hat clearly kicked into overdrive, as you swerved almost completely out into the oncoming lane, in a pathetic attempt to prevent me from getting past you.

I’m not sure what was sweeter, giving you the finger as I passed you, overtaking the other 8 cars you were stuck behind in one sweep, or finally taking the next corner AT SPEED, which I’ve been trying to do for weeks.

Mr cage driver, you are an ignorant feeble excuse for a road user, I hope your POS swift gets sucked under a truck!

    Sincerely

    Willie Ranger

Ignorant road users are a pita for any other road user - there are plenty of self-absorbed motorists who hold up traffic, speed up when you go to pass, take up the passing lane level with another vehicle ensuring nothing can get past in either lane, the list goes on.

The red mist can so easily be enticed from us, especially for riders who have machines capable of leaving slower vehicles in the dust but are caught in a speed bubble. Biding your time and then passing with brain and self-preservation mode still engaged is the best way to go. Planting your foot or twisting that throttle wide open out of frustration is a oneway route to disaster (sooner or later).
