No law required IMHO. It'll fuck with the fundamentals of the whole Kleen-O-Gene process.

I take great pride in owning a smokey old diesel, if someone tailgates me all I need to do is drive it hard and they get choked in smoke.

FFS what a waste of time.
I am with you on this one. Impossible to protect kids in this way. Smoking is dying a slow death anyway (pun intended). If you have not got through now to the hardened smokers about the dangers of it, you are unlikely to ever get it through to them. I always tried to be a considerate smoker, though I did manage to piss one bloke off for walking down the road with a smoke and he was sitting outside having a coffee

I believe that you should ban smoking in cars full stop! No matter if it is with kids or without kids. Just no smoking in cars. A bit like cell phone use. Will stop the people in cars flicking their still buring ciggies out the window into the laps of following motorcycles too

But a car is a small confined space where the occupants have no choice if the driver chooses to blaze a ciggy. if I was a kid and my oldies ciggy smoke was pissing me off I'd go to my room, or outside? no?

Maybe, I'm going off my experience of having grown up in a smokers house. I don't think going outside was always an option, especially when younger, and just about every room in the place was at least a little smokey.

...I'm not against the law change, just don't think it goes far enough so by itself probably won't make that much difference.

He'll, if i was the boss, id just ban smokin altogether

Im a Duty Manager at Burwood hospital, remember a couple of years ago being notified that a new mum & baby(baby had been born 2 hours before at another hospital...)that were being transferred, had arrived at main entrance

Went out to find mum & 2 other woman in car with newborn, the women were all smoking as the car stopped.....The car was thick with smoke!!

My disgust & anger was beyond belief

Have had to argue with women who have literally just delivered their babies & are aggressively demanding a wheelchair so they can go outside for a cigarette....one woman hadn't delivered her placenta FFS !!!

Make it illegal, and use the fine to offset the ACC levies on rego.

Maybe we could even raise enough money to up the 4km/h tolerance a little too.
    Keep on chooglin'

You resort to condescension because you cannot justify your position. How banal of you.

Please! You merely got back what you yourself had posted. I put forward an idea/argument and you replied with a facepalm, that was pretty condescending too dont you think. No matter, fact remains, that had you actually replied with something with a little more substance perhaps a meaningful discussion/debate could have ensued.

Meh whatever, we dont actually disagree so its all a little pointless really
