Iam very much in the ban ciggies camp. But would be very happy with them just been sold in liquer stores.... Think how many people will stop if they cant buy them with there petrol or weekly shop. If you have to make a special trip for them alot of people will quit. Also this makes it alot easier to police the R18 on them...

And yet as kid you just accept it as a normal part of life.

I also remember learning that smoking causes cancer etc etc at school when I was about 8 years old. I rushed home to tell my mother that what she was doing was bad and she should stop! She was sitting there on the sofa smoking. She just gave me this unblinking sort of stare, and took a second cig out of the pack, put it in her mouth, and lit it. Then did the same with a third. Then a fourth.

I ran out of the room crying at that point. Never discussed smoking with her again.

Yeah, this ideas not too bad actually.
Caters to both camps? Free choice for hte smokers, yet reduces their access (and advertising etc).
    Would it increase alcohol usage?

Novel idea tho - hadnt heard this one before. Nice.

tell them to walk to school then!

ffs. every day they shuffling (my personal freedom to kill myself and those I care about slowly)

I think they should pass a law that says no one is allowed to leave their house without a big ball of cottenwool.

I remember as a school-kid going to a Deerstalkers Association slide show (remember them??) and by the end of the night you could hardly see the sceen from the back of the room, the colours on the screen were all milky - and I swear you could cut chunks out of the 'cone of smoke' between the projector and screen.
