NSR250: No power to the servo/servo just not going. Wtf could it be?

Just got my bike back from the shop. Guys there reckon the servo isnt getting power, or the servo itself is buggered. Has anyone else experienced this problem and know if it's likely to be major or minor?

    Points of interest:
    - the electrics are useless anyway. Some power runs but hardly any and only if the bike is running.
    - Power valves are wide open. Goes real well at high revvs but getting it rolling in the first place not so great...

I've been trying to get to the bottom of the issue of the bike bogging down at low revs, and this seems like the problem. Just trying to avoid an expensive trip to the auto sparky...

I've got both and trust me it's starting to add up. Especially when the one with tits owns one with tyres!

Dead servo or dead PGM maybe.

Get onto NSR World.com and you'll have a better chance of finding the answer.

If the powervalves seize for any reason, they overload the transistors in the PGMIII unit, which burns them out. I can't remember if sad a battery can cause the same.

Anyway, there's a guy on NSRWorld (maybe MoriwakiMan?) who you send it to, he'll replace the transistors and test it for you. It's not expensive, but it'll take a couple of weeks to ship there and back.

Should be a piece of cake to sort it all out.

You will need to sign up as a supporting member (worth it if you're into NSRs) to get access to the Supporting Vendors section.

    Some info here.
    And here.

Just checked on NSR-World and apparently the guy you speak of was badly affected by the Japan earthquake. If that is the guy you mean.

The more I think about, there more I think it is the PGM causing the problem. Any ideas where I would buy a replacement one?

    Is the bike in Christchurch?

It's just a 5A FET, a blind monkey with AIDS could replace it.
