Fix er up OR sell as is?

I look at my bike and I feel like a bad person.

I've got a '93 ZXR 250 thats been sitting under cover for about a year. I really should have sold it ages ago but circumstances conspired against me and I've never been able to get the chance to keep it running.

In any case, it doesn't start and will probably need a few parts and a bit of love to get her going again.
I have no idea if the cost would be more than I'd recoup in selling it never having done this before, the other option is probably to sell it as is to someone looking for a project bike.

Any one been in a similar situation?

    I dont usually sell anything

Im more of a hoarder. I would sell it though if your hearts not in it,May as well let someone have a go at getting it back to life.

it depends how much it needs spent to get it going, i would say put it on TM with a honest description of its faults and put your bottom dollar as res

Well if the rego is on hold,
then consider keeping it if you wanna ride it some more, it probably needs a new battery if anything.

If this is your only bike...and you dont Really have that much of a fixer-upper mechanically minded - perhaps just flick it.
Or, prepare to spend more money than you first realised - including tools, and many many hours covered in oil and grease - with the end result....you would have learnt a hell of a lot about Fixing up something, and some pride in your achievement.

To do up, or to sell; that is ther question?

As it presently stands, you can sell it for next to nothing. The main benefit here is that you have cleared some space both in your garage and also in your mind.

If you are not loaded with cash and woiuld prefer to get a better price for it then: Get it running, slap some polish on it, and bank considerably more cash

some pics and a more detailed description will help us figure out a rough value for as is, and the rough costs of getting the required bits fixed, that might help you!

Pics would be extremely useful, plus having photos makes more people interested in your bike. Someone might decide they want it based on seeing it, too.

+1 on this. The ZXR is a great little bike... and still sell for what they were retailing for 15 years ago!!

I have to do the same with my vfr. Mechanically it's ace, but has a few little things that should be looked at before I sell it on.
