    Aftermarket air filters?

Howdy, What other choices are there out there other than K&N for aftermarket air filters?
I want to replace the box filter with a clip on conical one and K&N has one that is a perfect fit, but just WAY to expensive.
Who else supplies filters that are similar?
    CHEERS!

Don't do it. You will screw up the jetting in more ways than you will be able to recover from. Really.

    Fix the old setup.
You can buy sheet foam if you need to make a new filter peice, think Unifilter make it, a bikeshop will be able to get it in.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.

do you live on a hill?

theres pleanty of after market air filters, but none will fit a old 250T, unless you go the pod way and as Dave says...

you can get a pod filter from $20

I had a 250T but cant remember what the air box was like so I thinking the OEM item might be ya best bet, but try the likes of ya local cycletreads shop for a aftermarket std job.
    cheers DD

Engine specialties do green filters. Look just like k&n only green, and if you believe their adverts filter and flow better.

Give AMPs in auckland a call they are the distributor. mine was about $170 i think. http://www.amps.co.nz/about.php

here is the tool to find the part that fits your bike. Also a lot of information on how a filter change affects your vehicles performance. (i.e. wont screw it up)

K&N are good, but you are paying for a name, theres pleanty of other brands as good and half the price like Hih flo, DNA, Uni and in any case none will have a std replacment for a 1979 250T

Shit half the price that is good (even cheaper than the OEM filters). My mate priced up a DNA and K&N and they were about the same. Where do you get them cheap like that cos he is still looking around?

    Cheers
