I have to wear glasses while riding. Good thing I got transitions. They have saved me alot of hassle since I can wear them as sunnies as well

    Vcan

I have a Vcan 'system' lid I use for commuting, its a damn good helmet noise wise, and only fault I would give it is that it is a little heavier than some other helmets

I skimmed read some of the replies there was mention of cheapish HJC for $150ish,
I have one of these currently, the most I have spent on a helmet to tell the truth, I had some cheap junk before that then I got a cheap Oxford $80 helmet, The HJC one is pretty good, comes with a fog free visor, it does start to wear out after 4-5 months but I think its a good coating of cat crap, its quietish but like I said im just comparing with cheaper helmets, if your looking for an in-between I recommend one.

I also had a 1tonne duel visor helmet, was pretty good but loud, I found the visor through my depth perception out a little bit.

Find the best fit/built helmet and don't look at the price, once you know whats the best fit and build then go looking for the best deal you can get. I bought an $800 Shark for $350 on sale and it was miles better than the budget lids, If you look around you are bound to find a good deal without going to a cheap lid.
I just crashed on Friday wearing my Shoei XSpirit and my heads the only thing not damaged, the Doc said I was lucky I was wear such a good lid as it took a pretty good hit, don't scrimp on your lid as you any get one head.

I reckon the HJC are hard to beat for $$. Pretty good liners in their current range and generally fit fat heads well. Shops that play ball and normally do some good deals on them as well. My first lid was a HJC (M) now I have a Shoei 1100 (L). Love the sizing difference

    LASIK. Never once regretted it.

I love me a tinted visor - with the black Shoei.

I especially love coming up to a car blocking the bus lane during rush hour - parking the bike 30cm from their drivers door and just looking at them.... Big black bike with a noise that'll wake the dead, black gear, black lid and black visor on a large gentleman seems to give people the shits.

Fortunately, they can't see the fact that I'm grinning like a buffoon about them shitting themselves.

I'm not allowed LASIK yet, eye sight is still changing too much.
My eyes are light sensitive enough that I'm still considering a tinted visor to go with the internal sun visor.

Hehe with the bike I'm looking at next I doubt it'll matter that it's a small woman riding it, it has enough presence all on it's own
