No more the mechanic's car or the builder's kitchen!

After a lot of hard work, my son-in-law has finally got his website developed to where we can refer people to it. For far too long it was "in development" and I was reluctant to refer people to it. Check it out now! I've just told him I think it scrolls too fast for my feeble mind to keep up with, but his projects and success storys are gaining a reputation that is rapidly increasing their workload!

Sounds nepotistic, I know, but Rudy is a genius with a team of geniuses around him. He has never failed to achieve his promises for a client! The Energizer Bunny would get tired trying to keep up with his mind!

FWIW, he is not doing himself any favours by having the 3 'alternative' browser icons and not IE.

Yes yes, I know, here come the IE haters but the reality is that IE is part of the landscape love it or loath it. By not shoeing the big blu 'IE' is he saying he can't code for it? He doesn't like it? Or that it doesn't exist.

Also, the big ask now button needs to have something behind it.

Not sure why. I can ask, but I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination. It won't be a "can't" issue, as I've never found him stumped by anything. If he can't do it it can't be done.

The site will be refined over the next few weeks as all sites are once launched and there may be a few things yet to finish on it.

And the other one needs to do something at all...

Shoddy, I would take it down until it is actually finished.

When you're as successful as Rudy come back. The guy works daylight to 1am or longer at times running three businesses, all of which are booming and have done all through the recession. He started a business at the start of the recession and it boomed from day one and will soon become the major player in that industry as he is now sorting out franchising it. The other related one is set to take that industry over completely in NZ. This when his competitors are laying off staff and closing their doors in a fiercely competitive industry.

The site will be an ongoing development and refined accordingly. His growing list of associations include major players in the IT industry and for security reasons I can't name a couple of the biggest.

It could be just the thing for his target market, but I don't like it.

It needs more pics of motorcycles, and some boobies. It might even be able to get away with no motorcycles, if it just had boobies, but both would be better.

I am and I'm here... and I don't work on cute little booking systems for plumbing sites

You can get snippy if you like, but don't post unfinished work in a public forum if you don't want comments.

LOL!!! Tongue in cheek, somewhat. All criticism is welcomed, why would anyone post on KB if not expecting to be critiqued..?

I think the key is "target market"...

The key is that a website advertising the owners ability to code a website needs to be finished and glitch free. Don't get me wrong, I understand your pride but look at it this way. Would you trust a skinny cook?

I was referring to your requirement for boobies...

I do think Rudy's reasoning is that he has not had an online site that shows much at all and it's better to have it mostly finished and refine it than not at all. I'm not sure, but I do know you could make your criticisms and suggestions to him and he'd be able to let you know how he's thinking on it.

What I do know for sure, is the feedback I hear from his customers who are very happy with their results and continuing to invest in Rudy's services due to results beyond their expectations.

My role is limited to some content writing for some sites as I've been firstly too sick due to my accident and lately too busy building my own business to get as involved as I could be.

Much like a mechanic's car, or a builder's kitchen, then?

Sorry, I could have been more polite. I own my own IT business and we are in the middle of doing our website. I my web guy would have a dri rider boot up his bum if it went live with links that didn't work. First impressions are everything on on the net you don't get a second chance.

I like the concept of the site. I would check the top right link as well. It changes sizes between pages.
