Old bucket motor, the FXR of its day

I picked up this old motor, I thought it is significant in bucket history. 4 valve dohc
a bit ahead of its time. probably paid too much, Ill just put it in the shed with the other things I like. didn't want it to disappear off the face of the earth

There was more than one built, that particular motor I think is the one built by Peter Lambert and I don't think it was actually ever raced

Pete Jones (Oyster) also built one which he ran in his own alloy monocoque chassis when there was a 125cc four stroke limit and it was a very fast machine
"If you can make black marks on a straight from the time you turn out of a corner until the braking point of the next turn, then you have enough power."

Very nice! Glad I didnt see it, the wife would not have been impressed.
Ive read about this motor configuration before http://vincentcrabtree.co.uk/XR200.aspx Would have been a weapon pre FXR (as far as four strokes go).
