It all started when Wharfy gave me a KR150, after all those years helping the VMCC I finally got to race. I never used to know how much preperation was needed to prepare for a race meeting, but i soon learnt. It was a bit hard to find somewhere to practise my starts and gear changing before the winter series so me and dad ended up in the carparks after hours

. Thanks to Skunk and Henk i got to go to the easter bucket meeting a couple of weeks before round 1, which gave me some actual track time to practise.
Despite mine and dads best efforts my brakes where still a bit too spongy on race day, so alex swapped mine for his for the day as he wasnt using his bike. I started off the day doing 1.59's which i wasnt very happy with but thanks to Moto Academy Steve's help with my cornering by the end of the day i was doing 1.49's, i was very happy

I ran off the track in toyota in race 2 due to missing a gear near the end of the front straight and stuffing things up.
Overall I have no idea why I was so nervious at the beginning of the day, I thought I improved alot and did well for a beginner and would just like to thank my sponsors and supporters Alex Hockly of Ride Life (Heidenau Tyres + DP brake pads), Wharfy, Shaun Harris of Motodynamix, Moto Academy NZ, Billy of ACR Fibreglass, and Dad + Mum. Big thanks to the VMCC and volunteers for making the day run as smoothly as it did. Cant wait untill im doing 1.30's

.
Mihi.
