I see the Police are very happy with the road toll this weekend.............I came back from Ashburton on sat and must have spent a third of the time checking my speedo........and they were having a good Blitz of revenue gathering in town on Monday too..........

yeah there was, it just didn't include dead peoples. Broken bodies are still a toll. The article didn't say if any were so broken as to be in serious condition, here's hoping not, and here's hoping the ticket revenue is way down. I don't think a 5% reduction in speed is the cause of the low death rate, but whatever the reason folks

Take the fun way round, think of it as someone paying you $2 to ride all those corners and hills.

If it weren't for Orewa/Hatfields I'd wager you could get close to the "100kph thorugh the bypass" time if you were bending the rules somewhat.

The only reason there were no road deaths was that I was too sick to get out there...

EDIT: And judging by our sales on Friday, everyone in these parts stayed home and got pissed anyway...
