I think you have picked me up wrong, the emphasis of my comment was supposed to be the difference between freedom to express unchristian comments as against the reaction from Islamic religion.
I was not actually supporting either of them! .... They all have much to answer for! IMHO.
I don't think it is all down to the religion concerned. The Christian know that they get little to no support from the government or society but due to the western society cringe factor the Muslims and other other minorities know they can make outrages complaints and somebody will listen.you can not say God bless in a school without risk of offending someone but you can have Yoga classes. Note no God was specified so the God bless is arguably applicable to most religions.
I thought elections were decided by angry posts on social media. - F5 Dave
Religion really is entwined in our everyday speak etc!
How often do we hear people like talkback hosts berating religion and then ending the conversation with "God bless" FFS!![]()
I think you are wrong about Islam ... There is as great a range in the Islamic world as there is in the Christian world ... There are many God-botherer groups who would be very upset and challenge you if you made unChristian remarks .. they pop out of the woodwork to picket films they don't like .. etc etc ... and are just as hard line as the Islamic Hardliners ... even to the point of terrorist killings ... have a look at the long list of terrorist activity by Christains here ...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-abortion_violence ... including one in New Zealand
And there are just as many moderate Islamic groups as there are Christian moderate groups ...
"So if you meet me, have some sympathy, have some courtesy, have some taste ..."
The tax exemption is meant to be for the charity work they do. The homeless would be even more worse off without them. Hence why destiny ... nah another thread.
Again the god could apply to any religion but tend to agree with you. The French are giving it a go and pissing off all equally. If I as a devout biker can't where my helmet in to the bank then why should some chick be allowed to wear a scarf?
I don't see the harm in wearing a tasteless shirt lol.
If the shirt had said "Jesus can sit on it" some people would cry, but the general public would say 'cry me a river'
If it said "Rag heads can blow me up(crossed out)...off" then everyone would go 'oh my, you can't say that, you might offend someone!'
Like they're afraid of getting blown up......terrorism does work!
As for it being against the law as being offencesive purely because one person finds it offencesive, can we get ugly chicks banned? they're pretty offensive....
Like my spelling and grammer!
CUNT!

Hey, kids! Captain Hero here with Getting Laid Tip 213 - The Backrub Buddy!
Find a chick who’s just been dumped and comfort her by massaging her shoulders, and soon, she’ll be massaging your prostate.
Better ban it!

Well, staying with the OP, I found myself feeling offended by the said T-shirt and had to seriously ask myself ... why?
I think it is partly because of my upbringing and generational "standards" for the want of a better word!
I wouldn't want my Nanna to be confronted by one of those and I would want to protect her from any discomfort caused by it!
Neither the reference to Jesus nor the cunt word offends me, so why did I feel offended by it ... other than the generational thing, I have no idea!
We are a strange mixed up lot aren't we.![]()
