I love the smell of twin V16's in the morning..
A lot of owners did put the Alloy 3.5 into the Stag and made a reliable car out of it! I'd love one, but with the MX5, I need more space and disposable income to have another toy. My favourites are Stag and TR6 for the bigger one's and Midget and Sprite for the smaller sized, with the nod going to the Sprite. Seen the prices for TR6's though...?![]()
You don't get to be an old dog without learning a few tricks.
Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!
I like the Stags but in LHD they are rare as hens teeth, I believe they are reliable ish´with decent cam chains and tensioners and a good quality antifreeze. Nice thing for me about the BGT with a four pot is its easy to switch from right to left hand drive. I like the GT6´s too but its a bit cramped for me.
I think now is a good time to buy a good MGB and keep hold of it, can see prices starting to climb in 10 - 20 years as more of the remaining survivors are rusted off the road.

I remember going down to race at Levels in one of them - 3 guys and 2 bikes - when we hit the southerly after Hinds it just about stopped the bloody thing dead in it's tracks.
We were actually tacking slowly to make forward progress....longest trip to Timaru I've ever done.
