Well perhaps written with some medicinal alcohol flowing, but I still think 50 notes is a rip off. I am surprisingly reasonable & if you've seen my other posts on the usual bitchfest that KB can become when people feel they have been ripped off by 'the man' - I usually wonder what the full story is rather than join the feeding frenzy.
But $50 to change a tyre, just one. If that's the extent of the story then I think it speaks volumes on its own.
I am loyal to the good shops, but there are ones that haven't stood by me when I've had a problem with a product & chosen the distributor over the customer to side with. Well I haven't spent a $ in one particular shop in 20 years after 2 instances & I realised my loyalty was misplaced.
Don't you look at my accountant.

The shop I usually use want $35 a wheel if you take in the wheels ( fitting and balancing) and $50 a wheel if you take in the bike.
So have found a friendly Beaurepaires who charge $10 a wheel for my bucket wheels if you take just the wheels ( not balanced tho which is fine for buckets).
Getting wheels for 2 buckets has involved the following;
...buy the rims complete with shit tyres, get BR to remove shit tyres, strip and repaint the rims, BR fit new slicks and valve stems to rims. 10 bucks and I'm happy, no paint missing, can do it over a period of a week or two. So 8 wheels = $80 to fit slicks and wets for 2 bikes.
Would not even consider using spoons to change tyres on my bucket, the penalty for bent spoons in our house is.... well its best not to go there.
Take the Ducati to the shop because I am a lazy f..ker.
Faster, faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death. (HT)
I have used Hadanes now for a few years and have found them to be quite reliable.
Like all company's sometimes they get it a bit wrong... but it doesn't seem so in this case.
To me it looks like the OP has got a slap from his misses and is just passing it on.
I for one will continue to use them.
So do they charge you $50 to change a tyre?

don't know, they don't do my tires.
They wouldn't do my tyres for $50 ea either. Even if I lived in Auckland.
And if I did live in Auckland, they'd have to pay me enough that I could just abandon a bike if the tyres wore out.![]()
