Mt Wellington, 11-12 June 2011 start times?

I was thinking of coming along and watching the bucket racing. The next event at Mt Wellington appears to be on the 11th and 12th of June at Taniu Road.

What time does it start, or when does the main race events start?

There is a club bike if you have leathers and want to have a go...Oh and a helmet helps, keeps brains off the track.. which makes the rest of us fall off... except me of cause.

Were a good bunch... mostly friendly... except Henk.. known to be grumpy when 10 people borrowed all his spears and tools and don't return them for a month, especially when he needs them... Not that Henk falls off THAT often...
    One for the road...

If you want a crack on the club slut call John Connor, His details are on the amcc website.
Aarron better show up for open practice, we still have a date in the sweeper. Of course if it looks like rain a week either side the fag will stay home, again.

I think Sunday from lunchtime will be the best time to have a look. I assume it is free for spectators to come along and watch?

Free to get in, but often costs a few days after you've given it a go & decide you need one. Fortunately not much compared to other motor sports.

Most people in Auckland it appears from threads on here, start off buy buying the Banana bike & then sell it to buy something better.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.

Yep free to come and watch, and then about six months later you'll find it's costing you every cent you can spare and all your free time.
All so that you can ride relatively slowly round a Kart track and spend your time hanging around with a bunch of people best decribed as pricks.
If you turn up on Saturday and bring suitable riding gear i.e one piece or two piece zip up leathers, helmet, gloves, boots and a back protector (if you have one) I may let you go for a wobble on my bike, if I don't hate you within the first five minutes of meeting you.
Mind you, having ago usually cuts the six months down to two.

Im Keen too. Been watching the auctions and threads lately - looking at getting an el-cheapo that I can bucket. Going to need some new leathers tho - my jacket/trou dont zip together.
If I got the gears, bike, trailer (and towbar grrrr), and turned up on a Saturday/Sunday. Could I ride it? What other paperwar is involved? Can I get a one-day licence on location on the day? (Is one needed?)

Practice on Saturday is $20 if you're not an AMCC member.
Racing Sunday you would need to get a day licence and they are available.
No huge paper war, getting all the gear and finding a bike in the next week and half would be the hard part I'd think.

Yeah, but the Banana currently has a home and not sure the owner's keen to upgrade yet.
