Any builders available in Christchurch?

Our house in Christchurch (opawa) needs a few things done ( a week's work tops)
I live in Norf island so bit hard to do, plus may need somebody bit more skilfull then myself.
Can't find a builder..............
anybody on here knows a good one?
or maybe even is one himself?
Would like job starting from 10th of july when tenants leave.......

closer to the truth than you would think I suspect.

there is a lot of work FOR builders around, or coming up, but a lot are being dicked around waiting for insurers/EQC to say "yes".

If you want a builder, you should be able to get one, but it will be on the basis that YOU pay them, then get reimbursement (if it is required) from the insurer/EQC. And they are being total arses about it: I wanted our emergency repair water main undergrounded before the frosts started: doesnt look likely it will happen.

EQC is, unfortunately, just another Kafka inspired bureaucracy.

somehow they seem to be hard to find
and the good ones seem to be busy..

and yes i can pay cash first and then get reimbursed through eqc hopefully....
had an offer or 2 to consider through KB.
