    Haldanes

As we all know racing costs money and we all appreciate the support we get from our local bike shop and of course they profit from our obsession.
Ive been dealing with Haldanes since I started out with bikes back in the eighties. Bob always looked after us giving great support and good discounts, the man new how to secure a customer, he was a natural salesman.
Im sad to say my relationship with Haldanes ended today not only did I get over charged ($50 to change tyres without balancing, ultimately being charged $42) but I also copped a whole lot of attitude when I voiced my disapproval, who is that nasty woman?
Im officially taking my business for oils, seals, leavers, helmets, gloves etc somewhere else! Nice move lady, add that to your profit and loss sheet.

Did it occur to you that the 'lady' didn't know you from a bar of soap?

In my experience...a lot of 'racers' expect everything for nothing, and think they are something they're not.

And in my experience a lot of bike shop staff forget that we are the customers and treat us with some disdain.
I'm happy to say that this is not the case in most Wellington shops.

I had some tyres swapped over on my bucket a while back...was about $30.... they were going to charge me for leaving the old tyres there but didn't. The guys in the workshop seem ok.....as for the counter bloke.....

Yeah...but most of the shops that hire such plebs are now out of business!

Aye. I wanted a new tv not long ago, and the shop that sold it to me had by far the best staff.

    Where did that come from?
Im a bucket racer. I race for fun. I pay the going rate. I expect to be treated as any paying customer should be.
Tony who is usually on the counter is a good guy and has never charged me more than $30 for a tyre change. Think about it 20min work at $85 an hr + gst is $29.33 and I have the audacity and arrogance of a wannabe racer (bar of soap and all) to voice my disapproval at an attempt to charge $50?

And so you come on here and slag them off without even trying to get to the bottom of it?? That strikes me as arrogant yes.

I choose to voice my disapproval based on fact, that is my right. You offer judgement based on what, gut feel, thats arrogance. I’d like to think you are simply a Troll and if you are then I applaud you because you have succeeded, but if not then you are simply conceited.

So one bad experience since you've been dealing with them since the eighties and you throw your toys?

But wasn't the ''lady'' just charging you what was on the job sheet?

So after all those years of good service and support, one bad experience with ONE staff member makes you think coming on here and slagging them off is ok, without talking to the owner first? To see if he/she wouldn't rather make things right so you don't have to slag them off here?

You can voice your disapproval anytime, anywhere you like. But in my eyes, it makes you a tossbag for doing so before trying to get a better response from someone other than the one staff member that has done you wrong.

More than likely. But it's MUCH better to come on KB and have a hissy fit and slag the dealership off I reckon.
