    Thanks for the advice guys.

    Yeah the insurance company did actually pay out on the helmet (minus depreciation), but it's still in her hands.

    She's leaving the country () in August, and wanted to know if she should bin it or if I wanted to keep it as a spare (coyly hinting that she didn't care if "the next bint" was wearing a bum helmet. Ah, the English...).

    Cheers guys - to the trash it shall go.

    Being pedantic, if the helmet has a knock of any kind, it should be replaced. Internal damage to a helmet is extremely difficult to determine without taking it apart (which of course makes it unusable)

    Helmets can be replaced... heads can't...
