    SJ50QT over flow..

    Good morning all,
Just been out to my garage and noticed that the overflow pipe under my scooter is leaking. Seems to happen about once a month for a day or so. Not much but just a few drops every now and then.. What could be the cause of this?? is there anything i can do? any help will be great thanks

Has it got a fuel shut off tap? And do you use it? If not, then it could be constantly leaking past the needle valve and overfilling the bowl.

Probably a little crap in the carb fuel bowl getting stuck under the float needle or someone playing with the throttle without the motor running.

Must be a little bit of crap or something to do with that needle thing, hmm sometimes it doesnt leak and sometimes it like it is today no doent have a fuel shut off that i know about (might look into that) and it is not touched in the garage. Might have to take it in and get at looked at

If its leaking when leaning it could just be from the float bowl overflow, on mine the carb is on the left of the engine so it can leak if the side stand is downhill.

Most smaller scoots have a fuel valve that opens when there is vacuum from the carb a bit like this one

They can stop working properly long before the little float valve gets tired and starts to leak.
