    Jetstar are pathetic

I'm in Wellington on business and booked to fly back to Auckland tomorrow afternoon with Jetstar - the airline that doesn't like flying.

There's no indication as to whether or not they will cancel all domestic flights tomorrow after doing so with all flights today. Similarly there is no indication as to when they will make a decision regarding tomorrow's flights.

Basically, they want you to turn up to the airport tomorrow with your fingers, toes and whatever else you can cross crossed. There is every likelyhood that Air New Zealand will run out of seats for the route I need to fly tomorrow by the time Jetstar grow some balls & make a decision.

I booked a flight with Air New Zealand today as I need to be home tomorrow night and quite frankly don't need the anxiety/stress of not knowing. Jetstar will give me a refund/credit/blowjob once they decide to cancel my flight and not before - by which time I'll have no option but to drive a rental car.

So Jetstar, I hope you get dragged through the ACCC and raped in the arse with the rough end of a Pineapple. Coonts!

You do business travel on Jetstar?? Good grief.

Rock up tp Budget Rentals and see if they have any cars they need taken North. It's like $20/day plus your gas and you're away.

    Sympathies mate;

Have heard to many stories about this outfit fukin up peoples holidays/trips from simply cancelling a flight to over selling it and and not refunding if the person could not go on the flight they wanted to put them on.

Had one friend who had his flight changed during the night before his flight (which was early o'clock the next morning). He told them the flight they offered meant his trip was now pointless but because they weren't changing his return arrangements they would only refund the outward costs!!!

    Bunch of wankers IMO

    I would never use them.....ever!

Used them once, very seldom fly.

There were no natural disasters, I rocked up with correct time to spare, quickly checked in (that had failed online previously), and waited for plane. Easy enough.

I did use Air NZ for business to Christchurch earlier this year, and the self check-in for baggage and tickets etc was super easy!

Proof that it has nothing to do with safety, everything to do with economics.

I fly Auckland Wellington for work fairly often, always air nz.
No drama, no stress, great service. Well worth the additional cost.

"Service" is a lost art in the air travel industry. A shredded, burned and buried art. Jetstar are the lowest of the cattle class fronts for the industry, they're a joke.

I declined a 6 day extension to a very lucritive off shore contract because the only seats home were Jetstar.

Think Jetstar are effectvely Quantas in dungarees. They certainly started as Quantas's answer to the Aussie govt's threat to put the squeeze on if Quantas abandoned marginal national routes. This is the "service" you get when a service isn't actually viable. Trouble is the "non-service" practice has spread, it's now the norm for some main-line routes.

Yes tomorrow certainly will be a full day of hurry up and wait. Frustrating. I have my mum flying down from Auckland to help me with some care this week, and I cross my fingers she makes it as I am relying on her heavily for many reasons. I told her not to fly jetstar, and stick with Air NZ, but she wanted to save $20 and went with the cheapos. Mmmmm Fingers crossed!!! Would so love to have her here for my party.
