Seeing Bikerbee out on her CR at Roys Hill has inspired me to get onto motarding our XR100 (1987). Any one done this already and able to save me a bit of dicking around?

...just put a Loncin motor in an XL100, that we cut and stitched the seat and tail piece to be a kids flat-tracker, years ago...its been slowed up a bit by losing the 17" wheels in the central city eq damage...was in for tyres...will get it sorted soon..ish...will be a bucket/flat-track/motard lookalike when it finally arrives...could be more fun than effective...
Hmmmm Old school 125 wheels (wirespoke) would be my bet.
Also cut the seat open and stitch it down using same foam but firmer.
Also get a new rear shock like ikon etc

Keep it original as possible with a decent set of road tyres and maybe replace the fork oil. Then as the rider improves modify the bike to suit. Gave Bikerbee the confidence to take the plunge and develop the classic symptoms of BTD. Now I have an annoying buzzing in my ear, "When can I go again? When can I go again?" I swear it's like little flick on steroids.
Yes 4 strokes are for homos. Homo-sapiens that is, who have realized bigger is better.
it looks all right
Great advice people. My plan A is to try and find some road rubber for the current rims just to get her on the track. I can't imagine what would fit though (The rim sizes are 19x1.40 and 16x1.6). Plan B: I like the idea of finding some old school wire wheel rims with better rubber. Plan C: would be forks with disc braked front 17" wheel and rear 17". Love the picture of the modern XR.
Give Scooterazzi a call. They're great at sourcing such things

William did it for years before getting a RG50 dad brought some tires that fitted the standered rims nothing flash but they worked and gripped and that was it nylon it up your away and laughing, THats if your talking mini motard you could go fancy and put some FXR rims or something on it make it 17s and itd look pretty sick
honestly tho tires and your away easy peasy and he got some pretty decent results on it to

Awsum advice guys. I am looking at some Heidenau tyres as a first step. Wicked racing compound rubber in odd sizes.
