It's got a nice pipe, disc brakes front and back and fairly largeish looking forks by scooter standards. Might be OK.

I doubt that it makes the power of an 85cc and if it does, it's technically not legal as a "moped".

Being made in China, I'd trust it as far as I could fuck it. Buy a Jog.

You're right!! I mean If it has the power of an 85cc engine, how the hell the max. speed is only 70?!!!!.. A Jog is nice but too slow, the max. is like 50, there are one's that can go up to 65 while having a 50cc engine so I've been told, you recommend any other brands?

I don't think there was ever a fast 50cc.... BUT I heard people modify their Yamaha Jog to make it go "faster".

Ask Carver or DMNTD. They've both owned a modified Jog (if I recall correctly) and I think Carver once said it could cruise at 60kph no problem.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

    New moped laws

Here's the deal, as of July 01 all Scooters or mopeds will have to be VINed to be registered in New Zealand and therefore can't be registered on an MR1B form. This will totally eliminate all the cheap chinese shit currently being sold via TradeMe as the fly by nighters will not be able to justify the compliance costs.

Fucken excellent news for the New Zealand consumers.

    I would agree here ... $1500 buys quit a bit ... a 125cc-250 easily ... fuck the scooters ...

I was like that a couple of months back but now with the fuel prices sucking shit from ass (wallet) I'd say fuck anything that's more than 50-125cc ....

Anyway the 1st of July thing is just a way for the government to get more cash, im sure whoever is selling the Chinese crap will get around it somehow (they always do!)

I think i've found the right scooter costs about 700$ more than my budget but i'm hoping they cut me a sweet deal, here it is

Never heard of either of your choices. Surely there must be a chinese brand thats been around for at least a day to pick from.

My mistake, you're obviously an authority on the industry. Here was me thinking it was to halt the sale of hundreds of unsafe pieces of shit and prevent them being ridden on our roads.
