Thats a cheap one way flight! Which airline is that from?

I am hoping to make it again this year but the cheapest return is $412 via JetStar and its not exactly enticing (for 2 days that I will be there for lol)

Last year we stayed at a backpackers in St Kilda and came via bus to Phillip Is. (2hrs) on Sat and Sun.

I suppose you could stay at the camping grounds at the track but you will need to sort out tent/warm clothing/food etc.

It may be hard getting accommodation at the Is. but it would be the preferable choice, unfortunately I don't have much insight. Do a search on this forum and see what others have done in the past. I know there is a couple of backpacker places there.

My advise if your staying at the Island (even just visiting for the final day) is that you should take/prepare for a bitter cold experience!! Phillip Is can give you something similar to the last 2 days we have been having here in NZ (or worse!)

Which makes is amazing that the riders can actually battle the strong winds on the track.

You will love it!! Will blow your mind how fast they go watching in the flesh! Its great to have a stand cos you can walk round the track to look from different views but will always have your spot!
