Its all about defining 'reasonable' force.....and using the minimum amount of force to achieve the goal (ie from punching out the burglar, break their arm, stab them, to shooting them)

I didn't see any limit on the number of times you were to stab them. With panic and all I suppose six or seven times to ensure they weren't getting back up is reasonable force
