Obviously 'they' don't like me asking questions either.

I'm a nice guy so shouldn't fall foul of the mods but I don't contribute as much as I used to because they've still shoved my stuff around, joined it to other threads, put stuff in PD etc - so I think the point of this thread is the place aint what it used to be and in my opinion it won't be if people can't be themselves on here.

I don't think the Mods should be significantly more active and on the offensive like they used to be merv.

Maybe not, but then I've never liked how much they have interefered with conversation as it has flowed.

What's the chance you can actually explain why the OP posted what was said at the beginning?

Why do you think this place has changed? Do you think it is for the better? Is it now bland and boring because mods were so much on the offensive? Was that the aim of the place?
    Cheers

    It's the usual problem.

Do you have one thread that has all the discussion on a particular subject or 50 threads all talking about the same thing. Like most forums, KB merges them all into one.

Change is inevitable. KB is no longer the same because, like everywhere else, the sheer weight of numbers of new members has changed things. Those new members all come in and want to be accepted and therefore not offend anyone. So the whole place ends up a lot more polite (and therefore fucking boring) than it was because the older members gradually disappear.

Exactly. It was fun. But membership is 22,000+ now, not about 2,500 back in '06 and sheer weight of numbers changes things.

If the Moderators were as active as they were back in '06 we'd have about 80 of them now. Screw that.

Ah yes but back in the "good ol days" there were members who were significantly more active and on the offensive
