I'm a nice guy so shouldn't fall foul of the mods but I don't contribute as much as I used to because they've still shoved my stuff around, joined it to other threads, put stuff in PD etc - so I think the point of this thread is the place aint what it used to be and in my opinion it won't be if people can't be themselves on here.

You have to know when and how far you can go off topic as well as how far you can push common decency. You will find those that feel over moderated often know none of this.

If it is true that there is less moderation, perhaps Mental you could do a campaign to bring the "old" people back and warm the place up a bit coz they won't feel so screwed now?

Ronin threads always die when they get boring and past their use by date so I see no point them being consigned to PD. If they are still busy at that point then they must be still interesting to someone so why bother changing their status? That has always been my beef. While you think crasher still is one I don't reckon he's bad to have around here all the same.

As for Katman, I'm a Hawkes Bay boy myself so he's probably OK too lol.

I do. But people have things in their lives that meant they stepped away from KB (like having a baby or just getting a life) so coming back as much as they used to doesn't happen.

AFAIK threads (or posts) only end up in PD if they are wildly of topic, offensive or in the case of anything by DB, both. I have seen I think 3 threads deleted in all the time I have been here. Trust me, in terms of other forums around, this is a free for all.

Some Mods have always been attracted to passiveness. Over-zealous enforcement creates way too much work and generally only ever ends in tears.

Although this is a member-driven site, the bottom line is that the Golden Rule applies.

Yes, there has been a drop-off in the site's characters, some of whom are missed. People often go through stages in life's journey, which can include actively contributing to KB for a while, before moving on to other things. When this site was invented, there was no such thing as Facebook.

A lot of discussions have also been had many times before, so there's little point in us Crusty Old Farts(TM) joining in on those... again. I only laugh at my own jokes twice.

.........if all those that tell the protagonists to 'fuck off' stop telling the protagonists to 'fuck off' then the protagonists wouldn't 'fuck off' and the site would be as it used to be..(to some)...it hasn't changed that much from where I sit. Its just that the protagonists have cleared off or have been banned.......but thats what the 'people' wanted right?
All that needs to happen is for 1-2 to say that the site has changed , and to some (if not most) its just easier to agree.

...in essence.......be kind to the protagonists, let them be, they are a big part of the 'fun times'.
