Hey, I got my bike recently and the seller gave me a por15 tank sealing set cause there's a little bit of rust in the tank.

I got the tank off and put lots of tape over the fuel tap hole and the fuel guage hole but once I put the Marine Clean in, the tape lost it's stick and started leaking.

What else can I use to plug up the holes?

Katmans fingers would work well....

Maybe some sort of plastic + rubber bands over the filler hole and some wooden dowel up the gauge sender and tap hole?

Get yourself a cork bung from the top of a spaghetti jar.

Alternatively, get a cork sanding block and sand that fucker down till it's round.

/edit: Oh yeah, wrap the tank in lots of glad wrap before you start.

Masking tape I believe works better than the plastic type tape...just use a few layers of the masking tape..

I thought of getting some wood and rubber with a bolt through the middle. The wood holding the rubber to the tank but I don't know what would go inside the tank for the bolt to hold on to.

There is a little cone shaped in line filter the previous owner told me about, is there any other filter?

Thats the one.
Im not sure if theres a secondary (primary!!) mesh/grated type system inside the tank or not. But if you can see the inline filter is ok, cool. If not....get a new one. The plastic ones are cheap, like five bucks, and are fine.

I'm pretty sure I removed all the parts in the tank. There doesn't appear to be any mesh part. I might get a new one just because. Also there is a slight leak from it. There aren't any clips for the hose.

Rubber hose perishing?
With fuel lines - take no risks. Replace them if they look worn or old. And use decent hose clamps of the correct width. Fuel hose and good clamps = cheaper than a fuel line bursting on a hot engine. Perhaps $20.

Edit. If its a reallly small line, and the rubber is in good nick, the spring loaded hose clips are fine. Supacheap and repco should have some..
