You're right. I've never worn both together. But I've seen presure suits with removable arm assemblies, would that work?

Maybe you've just identified a solid untaped market: Full armoured leather with articulated spine and chest shells...

I'd love to see something like that on the market. It would be a much better solution than the current multi-layer "solutions" that are an utter arse in hot weather, reducing any jacket's ventilation effectiveness.

Building it into the jacket would allow ventilation to be built around the protective shell in an integrated fashion.

I'm a bit iffy about pressure suits. I think they work well if you're fit and active. I think for a half dead invalid like me, they'd be a short route to a stroke.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Talk to Quasi, probably not much extra cost involved, just need to get your hands on the plastic.

The original pressure suits were almost all mesh, just a skin to hold the armour in place. An oversized jacket would fit over one, (mine did before, I got toldlessly fat) and not impede air flow from standard jacket vents.
