I cant see a fuel filter on my CBX250RS. Guess theres an in tank one. Is it a good idea to fit an inline one? I want to replace the hose anyway so seems like a good time. If I do, who does a decent looking one thats not huge like a car one?

You can get a inline filter for a under a 5 and couple of bucks for fuel line.......there is a filter inside the tank on the fuel tap, just remove the fuel tap and cheak the condition of that filter, and you will proberly have a o-ring or gasket between the tap and tank be good idea too replace it if you can,
dogsnbikes summed it up. Will add....not using an inline filter on a bike with a 20 year old tank is pretty risky.....its gona rust.
They do actually make r/a filters. Many a bike has been stopped by a kinked line due to a filter. A loop is possibly going to cause an issue if there isn't much fall to the carb esp on low tank.
Sadly rusty tanks will have silt in them that will still get through any filter. The filter will take out the thick stuff. this slit builds up eventually blocks teh jets. But you will see it int he bottom of your carb if its an issue. Then search on tank sealer.

in regaredss roo tank sealing use
http://www.por15.co.nz/POR15Data/motorcycletank.htm, And BE SURE TOO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS
you will need wire brush,duch/cloth tape, sand paper 150 or old stello stainless one..disposable cloves any hardwhere shop
be sure to as question from the supplier of the Por15 tank sealent kit,its not hard sealing a tank but its a job that takes time too do it propberly, there step step and give they tank time too dry between steps this may take 2-3 weeks being winter anbd you need the tank at a certain temp...
I just sealed another tank two weeks ago and I know it will be cured proberly by the time i get home........I have herd people say they sealed the take and 48 hours after it was sealed it started leaking meaning they are putting the feul in too soon
an old electrolux on blow left for 1/2 hr is a good way to promote drying as it blows luke warm air.
ohh here yer go, up to $2. $8 might snag it.
