Any Record/Vynil users out there? if so why etc?
Plus does anyone have any old records they no longer want, I need to expand my merger collection (about 25)

Played on the right sort of equipment, vinyl still sounds better than CD. Assuming your ears are listening to music, rather than just f*cking noise.
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.
My mum has a small collection, aout 15, the only stuff I like in there though are the Meatloaf albums.
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."
Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.
I've got over 1,000 on vinyl. When everyone went to CD's in the early '90's I picked up whole collections for 20 cents a record max.All the LP's I ever wanted, and more, much much more.
I love vinyl. My equipment isn't that fantastic, so the pleasant distortion vinyl offers (that's why it sounds better, it distorts and alters the pure original sound in a way that sounds nice to our ears) isn't that obvious, unless I'm listening through my Grados.
The thing I love about vinyl is that I'm into old music -- Miles Davis, Grant Green, Hank Mobley, Coltrane etc.; it's wonderful to hold the original disc and cover and read the liner notes as they were originally produced. Something very tangible and satisfying to hold that big sleeve and disc. My iPod doens't quite have the same feel.
No sound compares to the Vynil??? sounds my friend.
I used to play my records once, then only to record them to tape, so I could listen to them all the time. The vinyl came out at special times. I left behind 100's and 100's and millions of records when I left my old home. I also left behind the record player....huge amp, graphic equaliser and big stack of fuck off speakers!
My vinyl never gets played now, I only kept a few special ones.
If you want old vinyl, try second hand shops, real groovy on Queen St has heaps, good condition too. What I want is a player/amp to be able to listen to my favs on vinyl, even though I have replaced most of them by CD.
Vinal sure has a nice sound, I to have many many albums, but rarely get spun sadly.
There is somthing pure about the sound though, cd's etc just sound so sterile, you now that hospital smell type.... yeah.... thats it.
with vinal!!!
I've got heaps of vinyl, much of it from my youth. I still have a player in my gargre and use it frequently when working on my bike or other activities.
