for a different sort of 3D printing...

To my knowledge Interlock Industries had a type of 3D printer in their Mirimar branch years ago, if I remember correctly it used power and a something or somethingerator to burn the powder. Or something.
Fascinating stuff

Unless the NZ prices have come down this place is the cheapest Ive found so far

Ive used 2 or three similar sites and they seem to be the best at the moment ..NZ try 700 dollars for a brake lever ( I assume this was a ridiculous quote as didn't want overseas business..)
A 6 inch by 4 inch by 1/4 inch bracket will be around the 30 dollars US , lets say for argument sake , you wanted said bracket with 2 holes , I would charge , around 40 dollars incl shipping
Just to give u an idea. Where its pays off is when , say you are prototyping something , or proof of concept , where u want to get it right first time ( hence my use of cardboard and balso models ..as I am pretty good as screwing something up !!!)
With the use of open source FEA , CFG I can do MOST of the testing refinement on the computer , then print , then send to a place like this http://www.emachineshop.com/ same drawing ....works out quite reasonable ( except the time , all that postage )
I would love access to the the ones the F! teams use ...they print whole engine block ...
Just they are a tad expensive .......

Sorry nothing interesting , a fooetpeg bracket was the last thing , and its a little scruffy as I was faffing around with it if you pop over to my web site , there are a couple of videos ( boring as hell and not exactly super slick .... )

I need that...I can see me down at the pub wooing women with all sorts of delicate chocolates, but little do they know when they get to my house
Cool stuff and neat website! I wish I had access to some decent equipment...maybe when I win lotto, my father can drive it, got an email from him confirming that he has used this http://www.eos.info/en/products/syst...g-systems.html for rapid prototyping and a few projects. Me, being a non-engineer find it all very shiny and exciting. He reckons there are limitations with those systems though, if he explained them no doubt my head would explode.
Females were the very first thing to pop into my head with a Chocolate Making Machine, too. Weird, huh? Just thought I would stick to angering the local ones for the time being!
Wonder if a 3d Chocolate Woman could be made? Now I'm hungry.
Rep rap will print chocolate quite happily , its not very accurate , but is a 3d printer ,,, quite cheap to if I remember
The biggest problem for me is getting non manifold drawings , sometimes They just go tits up ,,, ( my bad ),
Though on saying all of this , the old pen and pencil is remarkably reliable and quick to !
