    Alpinestars MotoGP airbag suit

Don't think this is a repost. Interesting though...

    Amazing technology

How impressive it is to see an air bag suit! Production is not far away!

Pretty interesting. I see the armour becoming the airbags, as well as other areas of course. Seems logical to me. Armour on the outside and airbag on the body side.

And why can't they inflate like the Michelin Man? That would save some problems

    ...could get an ACC discount

What happens when you have a big biff...the suit inflates, and you can't carry on because of that?

I'm sure that happened to Lorenzo lastyear with the Dainese one, lowsided into the sandpit, ran over to his bike to carry on, but the whole front of his zip had blown out.

na the guy in the video (at around 2:20) says the air bag deflates after about 20-25 seconds and is reusable a second time.

That's no good in the middle of a race though!

I kinda gathered that the suit, when inflated, is not all that immobilising...

I went further into the clip to have a proper gander...and it seems it may not be an issue. Pretty cool that it resets too!

Yeah. You get two inflations. Tough shit if you fall off a third time though...

Mind you. by then you might be discouraged anyway...
