The Independent Police Conduct Authority will probably deem that it is only unsafe to park on double yellow lines if vehicle is owned by a peasant.

Motorcyclist dies after hitting police car that looks like it was parked illegally.

Parked on double yellow lines? Clearly. Did he have the disco lights on? Who knows.

A more detailed account here. It looked like the old bugger was carrying a shit load of stuff in his scooter basket(s). Another negative for motorcycle crash statistics I'm afraid.

    RIP old bugger.

    A) Threads got merged, cause I didn't think to look for another thread in R'n'R.

    B) Says who? And besides, up to the cop to park in a safe place, the same way it is up to the cop to drive safely, even if his red and blue lights are on.

Correct. The dent on the drivers side of the rear bumper was clearly visible from the opposite side of the road, along with the smashed tail light. The scooter rider was following a van, who apparently swerved to avoid the patrol car at the last moment, The scooter rider didn't react as quickly, possibly partly due to his age?

There was a blanket strewn amongst the wreckage and at first glance it appeared to be covering a body but this wasn't the case. I was told by a retailer across the road that CPR was administered at the scene.

And if he DID have the blue&reds going I wonder why he'd be stopped there with them going??

Looks like the cop was pulled over in a cycle lane, hence the dotted yellow lines.
Poor old fella might have been following the alleged van too closely to give himself enough time to react, we all follow too close from one time to another.

Blaming the cop for stopping where he did while pulling over some numpty isn't exactly fair, when pulled over it is YOUR responsibility to pull over in a place that is safe to do so. The cop ain't driving your vehicle for you after all!
It wasn't me officer, I swear!

Pathetic eh? Who gives a fuck what the scooter has been described as.
Some poor old dude f'ed up and killed himself (it appears)...a family is grieving. What pisses me is that chances are I will know the old bloke or his family too.

Nah fuck it...good job eh? He deserved it
