    Those greedy bastards.

How long do you think you'll have to spend in Auckland?

Bloody hell. With the RWC circus in town, all accommodation providers are gleefully scalping any visitor to their "fair" city, charging up to three times normal tariff.

Supply and demand be fucked - I'll sleep in the sodding rental car before I pay $400 a night for a basic studio unit in a motel.

    Welcome to Auckland? Yeah, right...

At least Air New Zealand and Budget Rental Cars are not abusing the situation by fleecing their customers - good on them.

I've just had a heated email exchange with one motelier, his response was - sorry, that's the market rates - but he would pray for my daughter.
Once again man shows his true colours...greed. It'll get 'em every time

...or as they say, make hay while the sun shines and in today's economy who can blame him. Like a coin there is alway two sides.

We're there for two nights - got accommodation sorted with friends now, so we're okay.

I got another late email reply today, offering accommodation in December at $138 a night. I replied that the price was fine, could they confirm my original requested dates in September. Their response was - sorry we got the dates wrong - we also got the price wrong - that will be $418 a night...

I see the woman featured on last night's news, who had her early bookings cancelled three times, has had accommodation offered by a family in Auckland - nice one.

Or the couple from UK? they had booked a week for about $247 or so,only to be told the outfit stuffed up it now costs $300 night.Shame this sort of shit tars all accomodation people with the brush, the people who could get a bit of money from tourists doing the look around after cup will miss out,as the budget will be gone, hence no staying at other regions like Gisborne,Naki,Westcoast etc.
