    Fish Oil

ok, bought some cans of Fish Oil from supacheap on the weekend - was an impulse buy when i was looking for degreaser (which they have on special btw - 6 cans for $12!!).
Now, I have been using normal oil based lubes on my bikes - crc 556, wd40, and a couple of rust prevention kind of oils/seals on the older stuff that doesnt get used lately.

Wondering if anyone has used Fish Oil before. Any dangers with it - any benefits to it over normal crc/wd40? Im not planning to use it as a real lube, ie not near cables etc....but just as a general anti-corrosion kind of cover everywhere else.

    Recommended stuff? Or marketing hype?

Used it on my first car, a landrover to stop it rusting. Worked. Bit stinky.

It's deodorised - try telling your nose that. And cats love it too. Don't lube anything with it,it dries semi hard, and you'll have a hard time getting it off. I can't think of many uses on a bike apart from under steel guards etc.

Use it inside car doors, places like that, just don't block up the water drain holes (as noted it dries hard)
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

cheers guys. So it has a very limited use for bikes....

Recommended for an old steel frame that could do with a a full strip and paint - but I cant be arsed..... has minor surface rust starting to appear. Bikes only used once a month or so during Winter....on fine days.

Some of the mirror mounts, mirror stem bases and throttle cable hardware is prone to rusting, and may be suitable for fish oil.
