Of course there are similarities between the two.

Both highly innovative engineers, the 'Mad Scientists', prepared to challenge convention and both build/t unique race bikes.

EB started in a shed, was self funded, has registered heaps of patents and ultimately sold a many thousands of bikes* with his design stamp on them. Also a high achiever.

    * Just trying to find out exactly how many now.

The Britten still gets plenty of press overseas, at last years TT, one of the questions in the quiz in the Official TT Race guide included with the program.

    Question 24

Can you name the rider pictured here during practice for the 1996 Senior TT when he achieved the sole TT finish for the famous Britten machine? ( the photo is of a Britten in the yellow and black livery of Roberto Crepaldi )

I couldn't bring myself to do it after she said you had done a lap of the Isle on her. Must have been hard(sic) finding the apex Shaun. Did you have a torch strapped to your helmet? At the very least a 4x2 strapped to your arse..
